Admissions & Registration Policy
MEVA – Math E-Learning Virtual Academy
1. Purpose
This policy outlines how students are admitted to MEVA – Math E-Learning Virtual Academy (MEVA), and how registration is completed for each course or program.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all prospective and current students, and to parents/guardians of students under 18 years of age.
3. Eligibility
MEVA serves students in Ontario who are working at approximately Grade 9–12 mathematics levels, as well as adult learners upgrading math skills for post-secondary or employment purposes.
4. Application Process
The application process generally includes:
- Families submit an online inquiry or application form.
- MEVA reviews provided academic information (e.g., recent report cards, transcripts).
- A meeting (online or phone) may be arranged to discuss goals, strengths, and learning needs.
- MEVA recommends an appropriate course level and instruction format.
5. Required Information
To complete registration, MEVA may request:
- Student’s full legal name and date of birth
- Parent/guardian contact information (if under 18)
- Recent report card or transcript
- Ontario Education Number (if available)
- Any additional educational information the family wishes to share
6. Placement & Readiness
Placement recommendations consider a student’s academic history, readiness, and goals. MEVA may suggest a diagnostic assessment or short trial period if placement is uncertain.
7. Confirmation of Registration
Registration is confirmed when:
- The course level and schedule are agreed upon
- The registration form is completed
- Any required payment/deposit is submitted according to MEVA’s Fee & Refund Policy
8. Changes & Withdrawals
Families wishing to change, pause, or withdraw from a course must notify MEVA in writing (email). Refund eligibility is determined by the Fee, Payment & Refund Policy.
