MEVA maintains full internal policy documents in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education requirements, including admissions, attendance, assessment and evaluation, fees and refunds, student conduct, safe and inclusive schools, and privacy.

MEVA maintains clear policies to ensure academic integrity, student safety, and high-quality learning experiences for every learner.

Math eLearning Virtual Academy operates in alignment with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s policies and procedures applicable to private schools.

This policy is established by Math eLearning Virtual Academy (MEVA) in accordance with the requirements and expectations of the Ontario Ministry of Education, including the Education Act and associated regulations governing private schools in Ontario.

MEVA may collect technical information (such as IP address and submission timestamp) for security, fraud prevention, and record-keeping.”

School Policies

The following policies govern the operation of Math eLearning Virtual Academy (MEVA), a private online secondary school preparing to operate in Ontario. These public policy pages are supported by full internal policies maintained in accordance with the Education Act (Ontario) and Ontario Ministry of Education requirements.

Attendance & Participation

Students are expected to log in regularly, complete assigned work weekly, and participate in any scheduled teacher check-ins. Consistent participation ensures steady progress and allows timely teacher feedback.

  • Weekly progress review by the teacher
  • Students must meet assignment deadlines unless otherwise arranged
  • Extended absences should be reported to the school

Assignment Submission

Assignments must be submitted through the MEVA learning platform. Late submissions may impact student progress unless prior communication has been made with the teacher.

  • All submitted work must be original
  • Assignments must be completed before writing unit tests
  • Teacher feedback is usually given within 3–5 business days

Academic Integrity

MEVA holds high academic standards. Plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, and the use of answer-generating tools during assessments are prohibited.

  • All work must reflect the student’s own understanding
  • Violations may require work to be redone or retested
  • Repeated issues may result in academic consequences

Evaluation Policy

Evaluations follow the Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines:

  • 70% Term assessments (quizzes, assignments, tests)
  • 30% Final evaluation (culminating task and exam)

Students will receive ongoing descriptive feedback to improve performance.

Communication & Support

MEVA encourages regular communication between students, families, and teachers. Students who require additional support may schedule one-on-one sessions.

  • Teachers respond within 24–48 hours
  • Parents/guardians may request progress updates
  • Extra support available upon request

Privacy & Online Safety

MEVA protects student information following provincial privacy guidelines. Student data is used only for educational purposes.

  • No student information is shared without consent
  • Online submissions are stored securely
  • Students must use their MEVA accounts for all communication

School Operator

Math eLearning Virtual Academy (MEVA) is operated as a private online learning initiative by its founder and administrator. Governance, instructional oversight, and compliance responsibilities are managed in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education requirements for private schools.
